So what about the scripture that says to give honor to 'those who call for such honor'?

Now onto the GB's never-ending double standards:

Do people in general like to have their equals tell them how to live or which moral values to live by? Do people like others to dictate how they should view such things as abortion or capital punishment or how they should discipline their children? These are just some of the issues that divide people. So, humbling though it might be, what the Bible says makes sense. We simply do not have the ability or the moral authority to rule over our fellow humans.

Enough said. That is the very essence of what the GB does. I guess there is a qualifier involved, because they said nobody like their "equals" to dictate their morals, so the GB doesn't consider themselves to be the R&F's equals.

And last but not least, this repulsive 'gem' from a life story:

Smallfoot Movie and Jehovah's Witnesses (or almost any religion)

i just watched the movie smallfoot not long ago.. i wasn't expecting much, but almost from the start i felt a strong connection to religion, especially jehovah's witnesses.. the premise was about protecting lies for the benefit of the village.

hiding the truth for their own good.. one line in a song stuck me:.

"protect the lie and you protect the village".

Yes! Theocratic warfare, loyalty, positivity, etc. Whatever, it's all lying. One Elder told me: 'You wouldn't air your family's dirty laundry, would you? So don't do it to the organization.'

It's funny how we see things in movies and relate them back to our JW experiences, I did the same with the Star Wars films.

My sister passed away this evening

it was only about two months ago she was diagnosed with lung cancer and she was a non smoker .. she was never a jw and she never held it against me that i was for 33 years.. we had a good relationship even though we lived in different states about 2000 miles apart,.. tears are rolling down my cheeks as i type this .

i'm prompted to ask this having recently watched a police action movie where "jesus f------g christ" was twice uttered.. in the western world at least, christians & christianity appear to be fair game, (no objections here) but islam verges on being sacrosanct - at least it appears so in the uk..

Yep. I also avoided opportunities for education and even 401k at my jobs, because the end would come before my retirement age anyway. I regret it.

Faders Needing a Great One Liner

so our family fade is well under way.

we changed congregations as regular attenders and left in good standing with those giving hugs and kisses simply knowing we "needed a change".

we moved to a neighboring congregation that is out of our original region knowing we would see no one and the two boe's wouldn't really have immediate dealings.

If Angels in the Bible are of neuter gender ? Then why are they always depicted as males by description and name ? And never a female ?

in all of the art i`ve seen in christendom, angels always have the form of a male, and in the bible those that are named always have a male name such as michael ,gabriel , etc, .

nowhere in the art world that i have seen do angels have the female form, and in the bible they don`t have female names.. so if the angels are neither male or female why then are they depicted as males with male names ?and not female also ?.

the watchtower illustrators also follow this line .when they illustrate an angel it is always in the form of a male and never a female form.. the anointed who make up the 144000 comprise of male and females right ?
